About this care
Welcome home at daycare Het Marsepeintje, located in the artistic hub Marc i Panis within a historic school building on Marcusstraat 52 in vibrant Amsterdam-East. We provide care for up to 20 children across two horizontal groups: a baby-toddler group for 12 children aged 3 months to 2 years, and a toddler-preschool group for 8 children aged 1.5 to 4 years. Our small-scale approach ensures tranquility, overview and abundant personal attention.
Our philosophy centers on creating a homely atmosphere where safety and trust are paramount. We believe every child is a powerful social being, rich in creative abilities and naturally curious to explore the world. Therefore we offer ample space for experimentation: children play, eat, sleep, dress up, craft, cry and laugh under the inspiring guidance of our team of well-trained, caring educators.
Our location features wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces where children can move freely and express themselves. We continuously seek the right balance between encouraging new experiences and providing security. Creativity is highly valued: we offer various creative activities tailored to young children's worlds of experience.

Practical info
Settling in
Our settling-in period lasts about 2 weeks and is built up gradually. First day: parent stays the whole morning. Second day: goodbye around 9:30 a.m. Third day: child stays for lunch and we try to get them to nap. Fourth day: until 4:30 p.m. Fifth day: normal pick-up time. Sixth day: child is settled. This is a guideline and may go faster or slower, depending on the child.
Sick child policy
We have a more generous sick child policy than most daycare centers (kinderdagverblijf/KDV). Staff assess in consultation with management whether a child needs to be picked up, carefully weighing the interests of the child, the group, and the parents. We do not give suppositories or fever reducers. We do give nasal spray and antibiotics with name and time. Fever is not a deciding factor — if there is a fever, we call parents to inform them. The child may stay if they are otherwise okay. For an unhappy child who won't drink/sleep or can't be comforted, we call parents to pick them up.

Hele goede crèche, zeker een aanrader om je kind heen te laten gaan, professionele maar ook zeer persoonlijke begeleiding, heel erg prettig.
