Het Elfenbos

Welcome to daycare center Het Elfenbos! We are an independent daycare center (not part of a chain) located at Hanenburglaan 397 in The Hague, in the Segbroek district. Since 2007, our permanent and trusted team of childcare providers has been offering small-scale, home-like care for children aged 0 to 4 years. At Het Elfenbos we work with horizontal age groups. Your child will be in a group with children of similar developmental age. We have three groups: the baby group 'Rupsjes' (0-18 months), the toddler group 'Vlinders' (18 months to 2.5 years), and the preschool group 'Elfjes' (2.5 to 4 years). Each group has fixed pedagogical staff, ensuring children and parents build a strong personal bond. We use the 'Focus op Kinderen' observation method and offer a structured daily program with thematic activities. Each month features a new theme such as seasons, holidays, or fairy tales. We focus on reading aloud, singing, morning gymnastics, free play, and outdoor play. Children can tend to the vegetable garden and regular outings are made with cargo bikes. We offer warm meals from 4:45 PM, made with seasonal products following the Netherlands Nutrition Centre guidelines. For the baby group we provide formula (Nutrilon 1, 2, and 3). Healthy snacks and fresh fruit are part of the daily routine. Our daycare is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. You can always schedule an introductory meeting and tour. Het Elfenbos is easily accessible by car and tram, with ample parking available.
