GGD Inspection
Violations
Inspection date: June 15, 2026
Strengths
- Pedagogical practice meets quality requirements, particularly in the De Tijgertjes group
- Staff members hold appropriate qualifications and language proficiency
- Pedagogical policy staff are sufficiently deployed for coaching and policy development
- Parent rights are well arranged: information, alternative parental involvement, and complaint handling
- First aid qualifications are in order
Shortcomings
- The pedagogical policy plan must describe more concretely how basic objectives for social competence, norms and values, and emotional safety are implemented for each age group
- The procedure for merging core groups must be documented more clearly and consistently, and must align with actual practice
- Team meeting minutes must more explicitly record that pedagogical policy was discussed
Violations
- The pedagogical policy plan contains insufficiently concrete description of responsible daycare (basic objectives: social competence, norms and values, emotional safety)
- The pedagogical policy plan describes the procedure, size and age structure of core groups insufficiently concretely and consistently; actual practice does not align with policy
- Insufficient qualified staff deployed: BBL apprentice was alone in the group on multiple occasions without a qualified staff member
- BBL apprentice's supervision plan lacks written approval from the training supervisor
- The safety and health policy contains insufficiently concrete risk descriptions and action plan (safety, health, transgressive behaviour)
- The safety and health policy contains insufficiently concrete measures for healthy indoor climate (CO₂ monitoring, temperature, ventilation)
- Compliance with the safety and health policy is not ensured: hygienic practices (hand washing, washcloths, towels), food safety (hand washing before fruit, no refrigerator thermometer, mouldy bread), air quality (no natural ventilation in bedrooms, no thermometers)
Summary
GGD Hart voor Brabant conducted an annual inspection on 15 June 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) HaGu 't Leeuwtje in Veghel. The location provides care for 32 children (ages 0-4) in two core groups. The inspection revealed a mixed picture: pedagogical practice, parent rights, and deployment of pedagogical policy staff were found compliant. However, serious violations were identified regarding pedagogical policy, staffing deployment, and safety and health. Notably, this constitutes repeat violations: the same violations were already established in 2024 and 2025. Therefore, no recovery offer was made on this occasion. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises enforcement by the municipality of Meierijstad.
