About this care
Kinderdagverblijf De Bibelebontseberg at Willem Beukelsstraat 42A in Amsterdam's Watergraafsmeer district is located in a beautiful old school building with high windows that let in plenty of light. We are part of the Stichting Kindercentrum Watergraafsmeer Amsterdam and provide care for babies aged 0 to 2 years in three cozy baby groups: the Brulapen, Dolfijntjes and Rupsjes.
Our spacious rooms feature various play corners where children can explore and play. At the back of the building lies a large outdoor playground with a sandbox, swing, playhouse and various play equipment such as bikes, scooters, balls and shovels. In good weather, children have lunch outside at picnic tables and sunshades are stretched over the playground. For active indoor activities, we use the gym at location Willem Beukelsstraat 151.
Our pedagogical staff form a stable and close-knit team ensuring continuity and loving guidance. We provide warm meals and ensure every child feels safe and secure. At this location we have only baby groups, so the youngest children can grow in a quiet, familiar environment.Read more

GGD Inspection
Improvements needed
Inspection date: November 10, 2025
Strengths
- Staff provide emotional security and work sensitively and responsively
- Children are playfully challenged in their development
- Social skills are actively guided; children learn from one another
- Sufficient qualified staff and good staffing ratios
- All employees registered in the Childcare Personnel Register (Personenregister Kinderopvang/PRK)
- Staff are well informed about the reporting code for domestic violence and child abuse
Shortcomings
- Outdoor space to be better adapted for younger target group through creation of enclosed baby area (already in preparation)
- Baby area near mirror in Rupsjes group to be better screened off
Summary
Kinderdagverblijf De Bibelebontseberg is an infant daycare center (0–2 years) in Amsterdam, with 3 of the 5 permanent groups in operation due to staff shortages. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an annual inspection on 10 November 2025. All assessed quality requirements are being met. The pedagogical practice is strong: staff provide emotional security, work sensitively, and stimulate social skills. There are sufficient qualified staff members, and all employees are registered in the PRK. One area for improvement concerns the outdoor space: it is currently set up for older infants while the current target group is younger; the manager will create an enclosed baby area. In the Brulapen group, the consistent caregiver criterion was deviated from for 3 days, which was resolved by deploying a familiar substitute staff member.
