About this care
Kindercentrum De Zuiderenk is part of Integral Child Centre (IKC) Zuiderenk in Wijster. Our daycare accommodates up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years. We operate in a vertical group setting where babies, toddlers and preschoolers play and learn together. This approach stimulates social development and allows younger children to learn from the older ones.
Our focus is on providing a safe and familiar environment where every child can develop at their own pace. We offer early childhood education (VVE) through play-based activities that support language development and other essential skills for young children. Our qualified childcare professionals are specialized in guiding children in this age group and closely monitor each child's development.
The daycare is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. A separate sleeping room is available for children to rest when needed. During school holidays, care is available at our holiday location in Westerbork. The annual inspection by GGD Drenthe on 17 June 2026 shows that daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Zuiderenk in Wijster meets all assessed quality requirements. The location, part of Stichting Kindcentra Kits Primair, provides care for a maximum of 16 children aged 0-4 years and delivers subsidized pre-school education. All examined domains – pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights – are assessed positively. Staff members are familiar with the pedagogical policy and apply it in practice. The pre-school education using the Uk and Puk programme is visible in daily practice. The safety and health policy is complete, the reporting code is up-to-date, and parents are adequately informed. The location has a history of violations in 2023 and 2024, but these were remedied following further investigation each time. No violations were identified in 2025 and 2026.
