About this care
Welcome to BSO Willem Eggert, located inside Kindcentrum Willem Eggert at Jan van Egmondstraat 14 in the centre of Purmerend. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 in a familiar, safe and challenging environment. As part of Stichting Kinderopvang Purmerend (SKOP) we work closely with the primary school in the same building. This allows children to walk straight to a trusted place after school where they are cared for by our experienced pedagogical staff.
Our BSO features a spacious, green outdoor playground that borders the deer park. Children can play, exercise and explore freely. We run a sports-BSO concept: every week our partners from Spurd and NKT provide tailor-made sports activities—think football, dance, gym and movement education. We also offer quiet corners for games, crafts and homework support. We use a horizontal group structure: children are placed in age groups so activities match their developmental stage.
Parents stay informed through the OuderApp, where you’ll find photos, daily reports and can easily report absence or request extra care. We are open on all school days from 07:00 to 18:30. During official North-Holland school holidays and study days we provide holiday care, so parents are always assured of childcare. Parking is free at the door. Summary
BSO Willem Eggert in Purmerend was inspected unannounced on 14 October 2025. The location meets all assessed statutory quality requirements regarding pedagogical climate and staff & groups. The pedagogical policy has been worked out in concrete detail in a location-specific work plan, which staff are familiar with and apply. The pedagogical practice offers children emotional safety, stimulates their personal, social and creative development, and conveys norms and values. All 21 assessed employees hold a valid Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), are properly registered and meet the qualification requirements, including language proficiency standards. The staff-child ratio is in order at all times; there is sufficiently qualified staff present, and any exceptions (half-hour rule, back-up cover) are justified. Interns and work-based learning (BBL) students are supervised in accordance with the collective labour agreement. Children are placed in fixed core groups of up to 30, each child has a fixed mentor and parents give prior consent for group transfers. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The municipality is advised not to take enforcement action.
