About this care
Kinderdagverblijf Houthaven is located on the top floor of a beautiful new building at Revaleiland 1 in the Spaarndammerhout / Westerpark neighbourhood. Together with Openbare Daltonschool De Spaarndammerhout and Onze Amsterdamse School we form one integrated child centre: education and childcare under one roof.
We provide care in three groups: a mixed-age group, a baby group and a toddler group. For children aged 2 to 4 we also offer Early Childhood Education (VVE). The children play on a safe, enclosed rooftop terrace and are placed in a fixed group, so they meet the same friends and pedagogical staff every day.
We are open Monday to Friday from 08:00 – 18:30 and operate 52 weeks a year, so parents can work, study or enjoy their free time with complete peace of mind.Read more

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection report of 26 May 2026 concerns a follow-up investigation at Kindcentrum Houthaven in Amsterdam, conducted in response to an enforcement procedure initiated by the municipality. The investigation focused on compliance with a formal order issued on 9 February 2026, in which the municipality directed the location to establish a parent committee. This violation was previously identified during the annual inspection on 2 December 2025. Despite various recruitment efforts by the new location manager (since October 2025), including messages to parents, posters, website and newsletter appeals, it has still not been possible to form a sustainable parent committee. A short-lived committee disbanded when two of the three members moved away. The location therefore fails to comply with the legal obligation under Article 1.58 of the Childcare Act (Wet kinderopvang).
