About this care
Kindcentrum Het Octaaf is situated on the edge of the Baggelhuizen district in Assen, within the multifunctional Schakelveld centre. Since March 2023 we provide daycare (KDV) for children aged 0 to 4 at this location. In a safe, cosy and familiar environment the very youngest are given space to play, discover and learn from one another. We work in a cosy group room with separate outdoor space where our pedagogical staff provide professional daycare. Our pedagogical staff guide the children according to the Uk en Puk activity programme for babies and toddlers, with a strong focus on language and speech development. We organise daily 'Toddler Fun' with activities in the areas of nature, play, music, gym, creative activities and cooking. A major advantage of childcare within our children's centre is that the transition to primary school will be a very natural step: after all, the toddlers already feel at home in the same building and we work with a warm handover from childcare to education. Daycare is open on weekdays from 7.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.; parents can choose from various childcare options. Kindcentrum het Octaaf in Assen provides childcare with pre-school education for up to 16 children aged 0-4 years. The annual Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection on 23 June 2025 shows that the location meets statutory quality requirements on virtually all aspects. The pedagogical climate, personnel policy and safety matters are in order. There was one violation: the absence of regulations for the parent committee. The organisation was given a recovery offer for this and submitted signed regulations within four weeks, thereby resolving the violation. No complaints have been received and the location operates according to a clear pedagogical plan using the Uk and Puk programme. All staff hold the correct certificates, including for pre-school education and language level 3F. The municipality is advised not to take enforcement steps.
