About this care
Kindcentrum de Scharmhof is located at Scharmbarg 1 in the Peelo district of Assen and is part of CKC Drenthe. Under one roof we provide both education and childcare for about 400 children aged 0 to 13. Our after-school care (BSO) is designed for children aged 4 to 13: a familiar and cheerful place where children have fun and continue to develop after school.
Our pedagogical staff welcome the children every day with a wide range of activities. We craft, build, play sports and games, and regularly organise excursions so that children can discover new things beyond the school walls. Fruit and drinks are included so that everyone has enough energy to take part.
The BSO has its own dedicated space within the child centre and can also use a classroom when needed. The location has a large garden and playground where children can romp to their heart’s content. Thanks to CKC Drenthe’s integrated approach, our pedagogical staff work closely with the primary-school teachers; knowledge about each child’s development is seamlessly shared between school and after-school care.

The annual inspection by GGD Drenthe on 10 February 2026 shows that after-school care (BSO) Kindcentrum de Scharmhof in Assen meets all assessed statutory quality requirements. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates a maximum of 60 children aged 4 to 12 years, divided across three base groups. All examined domains – pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights – were rated satisfactory. Staff are familiar with the pedagogical policy and work in accordance with it. The Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) registration is complete and timely. The safety and health policy is complete and up-to-date, with regularly first aid-qualified personnel. The reporting code for domestic violence and child abuse meets all requirements and is discussed in staff meetings. Parents are well informed via website, newsletters, and parent portal. No complaints were received in 2025.

Fijne basisschool voor alledrie mijn kinderen (geweest). De oudste 2 zitten inmiddels al op de middelbare school, de jongste zit nu in groep 8.
