Kids@Home is a small-scale, regional childminder agency (gastouderbureau) based in Gemonde, in the municipality of Sint-Michielsgestel. We mediate and provide guidance for childcare between parents seeking care and registered childminders (gastouders) for children from 0 to 13 years. At Kids@Home, we find the perfect match between your family and a registered childminder (gastouder). We offer two forms of care: at the childminder's home or at your own home through a live-in childminder. Our placement process starts with a no-obligation intake interview to map out your wishes. We then search for a suitable childminder in our database of more than 60 professionals. You only pay for the care hours you actually use and can make use of childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag).
Subsidy & costs
Parents who use Kids@Home childminder care are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). We support you with applying for the benefit through the Tax and Customs Administration. The amount of the benefit depends on your joint assessed income and the number of care hours. A maximum hourly rate applies for the contribution. You only qualify for the benefit if your childminder and our agency are registered in the National Childcare Register. We are happy to help with the application and provide the required LRK number.
The costs for childminder care consist of the childminder's hourly rate plus agency fees. For care at a childminder's home, the hourly rate is €7.00 - €8.00 per child. For a live-in childminder, this is €21.00 - €23.00 per hour (depending on the number of children). The agency fees depend on the number of hours per month and the number of children in the family. We do not charge registration fees and the intake interview is always without obligation and free of charge. Parents receive a personalised calculation tailored to their situation.
Trust & screening
Our childminders go through a strict selection procedure with extensive criteria. All childminders must meet legal requirements and our additional selection criteria, including: minimum 21 years old, valid first aid diploma, pedagogical diploma, Certificate of Conduct for themselves and household members, additional liability insurance, and good command of the Dutch language. We also assess personal suitability, pedagogical qualities, and motivation. The care location is checked for safety, hygiene, and child-friendliness.
Kids@Home meets all legal requirements of the Childcare Act (Wet Kinderopvang) and is regularly assessed by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). Our childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK) and hold the required diplomas, first aid certificate, and Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag). We are affiliated with the Childcare Sector Organisation (Brancheorganisatie Kinderopvang) and KNGO certified. Our quality assurance includes annual risk assessments, progress meetings, and an active parent committee.
