Childminder agency (gastouderbureau) Kid@home is a registered agency that has been providing placement and guidance for childminder (gastouder) childcare since 2005. We work with approximately 50 qualified and registered childminders in the area between Arnhem and Nijmegen. Our childminders provide small-scale childcare in their own home or at the children's home for up to 6 children aged 0 to 12 years, both daycare and after-school care (BSO). Kid@home arranges personal matching between parents and childminders, based on an intake interview, introductory meeting, and careful guidance. Our service area covers the municipality of Lingewaard (Angeren, Bemmel, Doornenburg, Gendt, Haalderen, Huissen) and surrounding areas such as Arnhem, Elst, Oosterhout/Nijmegen-Noord and Valburg. At Kid@home, we believe personal attention for every child is essential. Our childminders (gastouders) provide small-scale care in a homely atmosphere, where children feel safe and at ease. As a parent, you get a dedicated childminder who really gets to know your child and has the space to give each child individual attention. We guide the entire process from matching through to care, and ensure regular evaluations to discuss your child's wellbeing. Our pedagogical coaches are on hand to answer questions and offer support.
Subsidy & costs
Kid@home informs parents about the possibility of childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) through the Tax and Customs Administration. The costs page refers to www.uitlegtoeslagen.nl where it is explained what benefits are and what is needed to apply for a benefit. The 'Uitleg Kinderopvangtoeslag' app by BOinK (Parents' Interest Association in Childcare) is also recommended. This free app is available in multiple languages and helps parents step-by-step through the most important sections on the Toeslagen website. It is important to know that parents are only entitled to childcare benefit if both the childminding agency and the childminders are registered in time in the National Childcare Register.
Trust & screening
Kid@home applies strict quality criteria for childminders. When Kid@home determines that a childminder and the care location meet all legal requirements, the childminder is registered with the municipality. The municipality instructs the VGGM to carry out a substantive check of the application, including a qualitative on-site investigation. The municipality then decides whether or not a childminder is included in the National Childcare Register. All childminders are qualified and registered, and must meet the requirements of the Childcare Act 2010 that Kid@home has incorporated into its quality criteria.
Kid@home is a registered childminding agency listed in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK). We feel responsible for a proper execution of our duties that leads to the delivery of high-quality childcare. The municipality is responsible for quality supervision and engages the VGGM (Safety and Health Region Gelderland Midden) as supervisory body. An annual inspection visit takes place and an inspection report is drawn up following this. All childminders must also be registered in the LRK, and parents are only entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) if both the agency and the childminders are registered in time.

Kid@home stands for 'childcare with attention'. This means attention in two ways: we pay attention to the care itself, and our childminders devote their full attention to each child during care. Our goal is for children to feel 'at home' with their childminder, with a high level of wellbeing during childminding. We provide all the necessary conditions to deliver quality care, so that childminders can do their work as simply and effectively as possible, and focus above all on caring for the children.
