About this care
Welcome to Wiedewei Zierikzee, our green daycare centre located at Scheldestraat 7 in the heart of Zierikzee. As part of Kibeo, we provide daycare for up to 32 children aged 0 to 4 years. With us, everything revolves around being outdoors, enjoying greenery and discovering nature through play.
Your child grows their own vegetables in our vegetable garden, runs freely in our challenging outdoor space and creates beautiful artworks from twigs and flowers. We are located next to OBS 't Kofschip with which we have a great partnership, and we regularly visit the adjacent petting farm. This way, children learn to get acquainted with animals and nature around them from a young age.
The youngest ones can enjoy sleeping in fresh outdoor air in special baby beds. Healthy nutrition is very important to us. Therefore, all children in daycare receive a healthy, warm meal at noon with fresh ingredients full of vitamins, minerals and nutrients.
Our experienced pedagogical staff create a warm and familiar environment where children can discover their talents through play. We work with fixed groups so that your child gets their own place and gets to know the pedagogical staff and other children well. This provides peace and confidence, both for the child and for you as a parent.

- Pedagogical policy and implementation of the Uk & Puk program are well organized
- Early childhood education is structured to ensure children receive sufficient hours
- The early childhood education policy staff member is deployed adequately
- Certificate of Good Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag/VOG) records and personnel register are complete and correct
- Domestic violence and child abuse reporting protocol (melcode) is well implemented
- Parent committee functions properly and complaints procedure is in order
- Parents are adequately informed about operational matters
Violations
- Early childhood education: the training plan contained insufficient specific information about which staff members participated in training to maintain knowledge and skills (resolved following recovery offer)
- Safety and health: forms for emergency back-up staffing arrangement (achterwachtregeling) and four-eyes principle (vierogenprincipe) were not up to date (resolved following recovery offer)
- Stability of care: children are moved to a second permanent group without prior written permission for each individual situation, in violation of Article 9(9) of the Childcare Quality Decree (Besluit kwaliteit kinderopvang)
