About this care
Welcome to KDV ZaZou, located at Frederik van Eedenhove 24 in Nieuwegein. We are a daycare centre for children aged 0 to 4 years, offering a safe and homely environment. Our location has a capacity of up to 77 children and has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 January 2010.
At KDV ZaZou we use the Uk & Puk method, a recognised early childhood education programme. This programme focuses on language and speech development in young children and connects with their world of experience. We offer both horizontal groups (children of the same age) and vertical groups (children aged 0 to 4 together), always putting the development of each child first.
Our pedagogical staff are trained to guide children in a loving and professional manner. We provide a calm and structured environment where children can develop safely. The group rooms are equipped with various play areas and there is a garden where children can play outside.

Summary
KDV ZaZou in Nieuwegein provides care for up to 77 children per day in five groups for ages 0-4 and a toddler group with early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie/VE). The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 9 October 2025 concludes that the location meets all statutory requirements in the areas of pedagogical climate and staff/groups. The pedagogical policy is elaborated in a general plan and location-specific work plan; staff work in accordance with this policy, including in mentorship and settling into a new group. The pedagogical practice offers children emotional security, stimulates personal and social competencies, and was visibly demonstrated during observations around fruit time, looking at books, and preparation for outdoor play. Early childhood education following the Uk & Puk programme is in place: 16 children, 2 qualified VE practitioners, parents are actively involved through discussions, open play sessions and themed mornings, and the room is furnished with development-oriented activity corners. All staff hold the required diplomas, VE certificates, language proficiency level 3F, and are properly registered in the Childcare Personnel Register (Personenregister Kinderopvang); pedagogical policy staff/coaches are deployed in accordance with statutory requirements. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The municipality is advised not to take enforcement measures.
