About this care
Welcome to KDV Vrije Opvang Anders, located within Vrijeschool Parcival at Lindenlaan 336 in Amstelveen. As part of Stichting Opvang Anders, we provide small-scale, anthroposophically inspired childcare for children aged 0 to 4. Our vertical group Rozelinde is situated in the warm and inspiring environment of the Waldorf school, where calm, rhythm, and attention to each child's natural development are central.
We offer both full-day and half-day care. Children aged 0 to 4 can attend full-day care from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For children aged 2 to 4, we also offer half-day care from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These mornings are part of our toddler group Tomte, where children explore the world through play in a calm, rhythmic environment, preparing them for primary school.
Our pedagogy is based on the anthroposophical view of the human being by Rudolf Steiner. We see each child as a unique individual with their own developmental pace. In our homely and safe environment, with loving pedagogical staff, every child is given space to grow in their own way. You do not need a background in anthroposophy to feel at home with us. What matters is that your child feels seen and cherished.
KDV Vrije Opvang Anders is officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 177682267. We have space for up to 28 children and are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Summary
GGD Amsterdam conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 23 October 2025 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Vrije Opvang Anders in Amstelveen. The location provides anthroposophical daycare to 28 children in two core groups. The report concludes that all assessed quality requirements (pedagogical climate, staff, group stability and parental rights) are met. There were violations last year for failing to register staff in the Childcare Personnel Register in a timely manner; these have since been rectified and additional policy has been introduced to prevent recurrence. The pedagogical practice is positive: staff work sensitively, provide emotional security, stimulate language, motor skills and social skills through play, and convey norms and values. All employees hold valid diplomas and Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG) and are correctly registered. The parent committee is active and complaints procedures are in place; no complaints were received in the past year. The municipality is advised to take note of the report.
