About this care
Welcome to Kinderdagverblijf Speelpark, located at Vondellaan 4 in Oldenzaal. As part of Humankind, an organization with over 40 years of experience in childcare and development, we provide professional care for children aged 0 to 4 years. Our daycare center is housed in a spacious building where the ground floor is designed for children from 0 to 2 years old, while the first floor offers groups for youngest toddlers (2-3 years) and oldest toddlers (3-4 years).
Our pedagogical vision is based on humanistic values where we believe in the optimal growth and flourishing of every child. We provide an environment where children learn by doing, discovering, and experimenting themselves. At Humankind, everything revolves around Child Power and Participation - children get the chance to make their own choices and come up with solutions, contributing to the development of independence and self-confidence.
We stand for a green and sustainable approach. Children with us grow up with love and respect for our planet. We immerse them in nature and let them experience how beautiful and important it is. By offering positive experiences with nature at a young age, children learn to consciously deal with everything that lives.
Additionally, we focus on health and movement. We encourage children to take good care of themselves by learning healthy habits. We provide nutritious meals according to the guidelines of the Nutrition Center and encourage children to move fully every day. Children who move a lot are not only healthier but also happier and more creative.
Our location has plenty of space to move and play, with a large outdoor area where children can romp to their heart's content. We offer preschool education (VE) and are officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 148555317.Read more

Strengths
- Pedagogical practice meets all observed aspects: autonomy, attention, self-reliance, respectful interaction, language enrichment, play engagement, and outdoor activities
- Pedagogical policy is elaborated in a policy plan and work plan, discussed in team meetings, and digitally accessible
- Staff and groups meet all requirements: correct staff-child ratio, all required diplomas and Certificate of Conduct (VOG) in place
- Safety and health policy is complete, up-to-date, and discussed in consultation meetings; all staff members hold a first aid certificate
- Accommodation meets space requirements with sufficient indoor and outdoor play areas
Shortcomings
- Communication about outdoor play area safety could be sharper: staff members were unclear about the status of play equipment scheduled for replacement, causing the area to be unused unnecessarily
Violations
- Deployment of early childhood education staff member without required qualifications: on 24 March 2026, a staff member was deployed without proof of language proficiency level 3F (oral language skills and reading) and without a valid early childhood education (VVE) certificate
Summary
The annual investigation by GGD Twente into daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Speelpark in Oldenzaal (part of Stichting Humankind) shows a predominantly positive picture. The pedagogical practice, staff qualifications, safety and health policy, and accommodation meet legal requirements. However, one violation was identified in the area of early childhood education: on 24 March 2026, an unqualified staff member was deployed without the required VVE certificate and language proficiency level 3F. Because the location closes on 19 October 2026 and no VVE children are being cared for, no recovery offer was made. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality of Oldenzaal not to take enforcement action.
