About this care
Peuteropvang Oranje is part of IRIS Kindcentrum Oranje and is located at the same premises as primary school Oranje at Burgemeester van Vleutenstraat 10 in the village of Zalk. We provide toddler care for children aged 2 to 4 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM. In our homely group, a maximum of 16 toddlers are given space to play, discover and grow in a safe and familiar environment. Our pedagogical team works from Christian values and has an eye for the unique character of each child. We stimulate the children's development through targeted activities and thematic work, responding to their curiosity and talents. The toddlers can use the school's playground and we regularly make use of the facilities and expertise of the primary school. Together we work towards a smooth transition to primary education. Peuteropvang Oranje in Zalk, part of IRIS Opvang, was inspected by GGD IJsselland on 18 August 2026. The location provides toddler daycare (peuteropvang) and after-school care (BSO) with 16 childcare places. On two of the three examined domains (staff and groups, safety and health), quality requirements were met immediately. There was a shortcoming regarding the pedagogical climate: a childcare worker was not familiar with the updated pedagogical work plan and did not know how to access policy documents. There had been too few consultation moments. Following a recovery offer, the holder drew up an annual agenda and reviewed the work plan with the childcare worker. The shortcoming has been resolved. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
