About this care
Welcome to Peutergroep Thijm, a small-scale daycare centre for toddlers aged 2.5 to 4 years located at Stroetweg 10 in Emmen. We are part of the Anthroposophical Childcare Foundation Emmen and provide care in a homely and warm environment, with plenty of room for free play and personal attention.
Children can join us 2 to 3 mornings per week from 8:30 AM to 12:15 PM. We work with small groups of up to 10 children, guided by a consistent teacher. This ensures calm, familiarity and a safe foundation for every child. We value respectful attention, care and an atmosphere in which children can develop at their own pace.
Our location is situated on the grounds of Vrije School De Stroeten, with whom we collaborate closely. We do not offer early childhood education (VE), but focus entirely on learning through play and social development in an anthroposophical setting. A garden is available for children to play and explore.

The annual unannounced inspection by GGD Drenthe on 9 June 2026 shows that Peutergroep Thijm in Emmen fully meets all quality requirements of the Childcare Act. The anthroposophical daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for a maximum of 10 toddlers (2.5–4 years) scores well on pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights. The childcare professional is familiar with the pedagogical policy and works in accordance with it. All staff members hold a valid Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and are correctly registered in the Childcare Personnel Register. The safety and health policy is complete and up to date, including an adequate reporting protocol for domestic violence and child abuse. Parents are well informed through multiple channels and there is a functioning parent committee of 4 members. No complaints were received in 2025. The provider is affiliated with the Childcare Disputes Committee (Geschillencommissie Kinderopvang).
