Summary
On 29 April 2026, the Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced incidental inspection at LPS kinderopvang De Toermalijn (toddler care) in Halsteren, on behalf of the municipality of Bergen op Zoom. The inspection was prompted by an application to expand the number of childcare places from 16 to 31 and a name change to LPS Kinderopvang Expeditie. The location is housed in brede school De Schans and will provide care for a maximum of 31 children aged 0-4 years, divided across two groups. The accommodation comprises two group rooms of 53.2m² each, a play hall of 66.8m², and an adjacent outdoor space of approximately 100m². From 6 May 2026, the location will begin operating toddler-preschool groups in consultation with the municipality, as part of a national experiment.
