Welcome to Kindergarden Rotterdam Bergse Linker Rottekade, housed in a charming former church building on the Rotte river in Hillegersberg. Our location offers a calm, green setting close to Bergse Bos and is perfectly suited for children aged 0 to 4 years. We have room for 69 children, divided into horizontal age groups so that every space, routine and activity is precisely tailored to your child’s developmental stage.
Our experienced pedagogical staff provide loving care and personal attention every day. In the baby group we use hanging cradles and always feed on the lap, ensuring maximum security. Each morning we wake up gnome Pim; afterwards movement activities such as ‘Friends Call me Jim’ and a weekly yoga class follow. For our older toddlers there is a play attic where we prepare the transition to primary school through circle time and focused activities.
Outside we have a special toddler garden, a preschool garden and a safely enclosed baby corner. Children can practise balance, ride bikes, play together in the sandbox or explore the bamboo grove and playhouse. Our kitchen staff cook fresh, healthy meals daily, taking allergies and dietary requirements into account. We provide nappies, wipes and care products so you can work or study worry-free.

The annual inspection on 19 November 2025 at Kindergarden Rotterdam Bergse Linker Rottekade presents a mixed picture. The daycare for children aged 0-4 years (69 places, 6 groups) performs well in the pedagogical domain: there is a warm, responsive approach to children and the pedagogical policy is implemented effectively. The domestic violence reporting protocol, parent committee, and care stability are also in order. However, two violations were identified in the area of staffing. A staff member did not hold proof of adequate proficiency in the Dutch language (level 3F). This staff member was subsequently unlawfully deployed in the Peuterplusgroep on 18 November 2025, causing the qualified staff-to-child ratio to not be met at that time. The location has terminated the employment relationship with the staff member and evaluated its recruitment policy. The violation has thereby been remedied. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises enforcement.
