About this care
Welcome to SamSam KDV Van Baerle, our daycare centre in the heart of Amsterdam-Zuid. We provide care for up to 28 children aged 0 to 4 years in a warm, homely atmosphere. Our team of experienced pedagogical staff work according to the core values Together, Unique, Responsible and Expression. We believe every child is unique and therefore encourage the children’s own initiatives.
Our location is divided into two horizontal groups: a baby group (0-2 years) and a toddler group (2-4 years). In the baby group we follow your child’s rhythm and provide calm, respectful care. For the toddler group we work with themes that connect to the children’s world of experience. We use natural materials and go outside every day; nature is our greatest teaching resource. In addition, we offer early childhood education (VVE) using the Uk & Puk programme, through which we prepare toddlers for primary school in a playful way.

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Amsterdam conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 16 July 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Kleine Wereld Van Baerlestraat in Amsterdam. The location, which reopened in September 2025 following renovation, provides care for 24 children across a baby group (0-2 years) and a vertical group (0-4 years). The inspection assessed the pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health. The location meets all assessed quality requirements. The team of 4 staff members provides children with emotional security and stimulates their development in a positive manner. There was one point of attention: on 14 July 2026, a deployed staff member was not correctly registered in the work schedule, although the staff-child ratio was maintained. The location manager acknowledged this and indicated that the administration would be improved.
