About this care
Welcome to KDV Stroomdal, our warm daycare center located at Bouwkamp 2 in Kampen. We are part of IRIS Kindcentra and provide care for up to 12 children aged 0 to 4 years. At our center, everything revolves around creating a homely atmosphere where children feel safe and secure, allowing them to grow, experience and discover to their full potential.
Our pedagogical staff work according to the pedagogical work plan specifically developed for KDV Stroomdal. We view every childhood phase as a beautiful period in which children are allowed to develop at their own pace. The feeling of being at home that children experience with us forms the solid foundation for everything they learn and discover during their time here.
At KDV Stroomdal, we go outside every day. We play on the playground or in one of the neighborhood's playgrounds. Children make sand cakes in our outdoor kitchen and can visit our chickens and rabbits. This interaction with animals and nature is an important part of our daily activities. We believe that outdoor play and contact with animals contributes to children's development and helps them discover the world around them.
Our location has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register since June 5, 2014. We work with horizontal groups, where children are cared for in age groups. This allows us to tailor care and activities appropriately to your child's developmental stage.

Strengths

- No opening date indicated on opened milk and yogurt cartons in refrigerator (resolved via recovery offer)
- Mattresses in beds were not lying flat and did not fit properly due to undersized fitted sheets (resolved via recovery offer with purchase of new mattresses)
Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Stroomdal in Kampen, part of IRIS Opvang, was inspected unannounced on 12 January 2026 by Municipal Health Service (GGD) IJsselland. The location with 12 childcare places generally complies with the Childcare Act. The domains of pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and parental rights were rated positively. Four deficiencies were identified in safety and health, including a missing socket protector, an open cable duct in the bedroom, missing dates on opened fresh products, and curled-up mattresses in beds. The operator took immediate action and resolved all violations through a recovery offer (deadline 2 March 2026). New mattresses were ordered and the Safe Sleeping protocol was discussed again. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
