At De Hummeltjeshoeve, we provide reliable, professional childcare for children from 0 to 13 years old. Our locations in Heukelum, Ameide and Nieuwland offer daycare centers (kinderdagverblijf/KDV), preschool/toddler care and after-school care (BSO). We believe it is essential that both children and staff feel emotionally and physically safe, which contributes to optimal development. Collaboration with parents is central to our approach; we align our pedagogical practices to bridge the gap between home life and our childcare setting. Our daycare centers (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) provide care in vertical groups, where children of different ages are together. This encourages social interaction and learning from one another. Our after-school care (BSO) is designed for children aged 4 to 13 and offers a wide range of activities, including sports and physical activity, nature exploration and outdoor play. We place great value on outdoor activities and regularly organise excursions. Safety and health are our top priorities, and we systematically track children's development using a child monitoring system. Our 2024 rates are €10.40 per hour for a 51-week contract and €10.55 for a 40-week contract at the daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV). For after-school care (BSO), we charge €9.27 per hour for a 48-week contract and €9.47 for a 40-week contract. We advise parents to have children attend multiple half-day sessions for a quicker settling-in period. Parents can log in to the Parent Portal for detailed information and policy documents, and we offer a digital theme brochure for home activities. Our childcare practitioners are well-trained, and we use the Kiki de Bear methodology for early childhood education.
