About this care
Filimo – Lanteerne is a small-scale daycare centre located at Henry Dunantstraat 8 in Nijmegen. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years. The location is officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 199599154 and is supervised by the GGD Gelderland-Zuid. Thanks to our limited group size, we can offer personal attention and create a familiar environment where young children feel safe and secure.
Because we work in a small setting, we know every child and every family well. Our pedagogical staff tailor daily activities to the developmental stage and interests of your child. We follow a fixed daily structure that young children need, with ample room for rest, play and discovery. The atmosphere is homely and warm, so your child quickly feels at home.
Our location is situated on the grounds of primary school De Lanteerne. This proximity makes the transition to primary school later on smoother, both for the child and the parents. We also collaborate with the school and other partners in the neighbourhood wherever possible to ensure a continuous line in your child’s development.

- Pedagogical practice is strong: staff provide children with emotional security and stimulate their development

- The accommodation is sufficiently spacious, safe, and appropriately furnished
- The domestic violence and child abuse reporting protocol is adequate and staff are familiar with it
- Parents are sufficiently informed about policy via the website, parent app, and information board

- Food safety: opened food items in the refrigerator are not always labeled with an opening date (repeatedly observed)
- Safety and health policy: readability and clear separation between daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) and after-school care (BSO) information requires attention
- New pedagogical policy staff member is still in training for coaching (training runs until end of 2026)

- Safety and health policy was incomplete: backup supervision arrangement was missing for situations where one staff member is alone with the group, policy was not up-to-date and location-specific for the daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) (information concerned another location on Jacob van Campenstraat, food safety house rules were missing)
- No demonstrable effort to establish a parent committee: parents were not informed about the possibility of participation, no alternative parent consultation was demonstrated for advice on policy matters
