About this care
KDV De Boerderij is located just outside the built-up area of Soest, at Weg in de Maten 2. As a small-scale daycare we welcome up to 45 children from 10 weeks to 4 years old. Every day our children actively experience the farm: they feed the chickens, cuddle the rabbits and watch the calves drink. This direct contact with animals and the seasons is the heart of our pedagogical approach, guided by the principles of the United Agricultural Childcare Association (VAK).
We organise horizontal groups: two baby groups and three toddler groups. Babies sleep in separate bedrooms and receive full care; diapers, formula, fresh fruit and bread meals are all included. Toddlers aged 2-4 can attend half-day sessions from 07:30 to 13:00. Our qualified staff know every child personally and provide individual attention. Outdoor play is central: our large garden borders on meadows and offers plenty of space to run, explore and experience nature. Inside, the homely group rooms invite rest and play.
We are open all year round, Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30, excluding national holidays. Parents appreciate our warm, familiar family team and short personal communication. Feel welcome to visit for a tour and experience the atmosphere of our farm.Read more
GGD Inspection
Violations
Inspection date: August 26, 2026
Strengths
- Pedagogical practice meets all requirements; calm, pleasant atmosphere and engaged childcare workers
- Good settling-in procedure for children starting or transitioning to a new group
- Pedagogical policy staff and coaches are deployed effectively
- Dutch is used correctly as the working language
- Quick response to identified shortcomings
Shortcomings
- Work more carefully with the Persons Register for Childcare to prevent linking errors
- Always check at the start of each shift whether all present childcare workers are correctly registered
Violations
- Pedagogical policy plan lacked a concrete description of tasks for childcare workers in training and interns (remedied via recovery offer on 23 September 2026)
- Puzzle cabinet with wooden puzzles was placed unsafely on narrow shelf with fall hazard (remedied during inspection and definitively resolved with wider shelves)
- Childcare worker was not linked in the Persons Register for Childcare at the time of inspection (remedied on 18 September 2026, but violation remains)
- Childcare worker in baby group lacked valid infant care certificate (remedied on 3 September 2026 via recovery offer)
Summary
The annual inspection of 26 August 2026 of daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) & after-school care (BSO) De Boerderij in Soest shows a mixed picture. The pedagogical practice and deployment of pedagogical policy staff meet requirements well. However, three shortcomings were identified, two of which were resolved via a recovery offer and one remains outstanding. The location received a recovery offer for pedagogical policy (intern tasks not described concretely) and safety (fall hazard from puzzle cabinet), both now remedied. A violation regarding staffing and groups remains: a childcare worker was not linked in the Persons Register for Childcare. An infant care certificate was also initially lacking, but has since been obtained. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises enforcement.
