About this care
KDV de Stadhouders is a modern daycare centre on the ground floor of a beautiful classic building at Stadhouderslaan 30 in Schiedam. The BSO (after-school care) is located on the first floor of the same building. We provide care for children from 0 to 4 years old.
Our enthusiastic and experienced pedagogical staff create a warm and safe environment every day. We work with an open-door policy: children are cared for in their own fixed group, but can also explore the neighbouring group. When necessary, the door can be closed to create a calm atmosphere. For babies, we have a safe, familiar atmosphere in the group.
Daily activities are tailored to the age and development of the children. For the very youngest we organise baby gym and sensory moments; toddlers can join in dancing, reading aloud and crafts. The Activity Team of Kinderopvang Mundo visits regularly, providing sports and play activities, nature experiences and creative workshops.
KDV de Stadhouders works intensively with primary school St. Jozef. Children can move on to the after-school care at the same location after their fourth birthday. Registration for after-school care is done separately.
Our enclosed outdoor space is an adventurous natural garden with many natural elements where children can play, discover, climb and dig in the earth. The location is close to Volkspark het Sterrenbos, which we visit regularly with the children. At Mundo we start the day with a healthy breakfast and offer sustainable, seasonal food.Read more

The annual inspection of 29 July 2026 presents a predominantly positive picture with good results for pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health policy. The pedagogical practice is characterised by sensitive, responsive care and a relaxed atmosphere. One serious shortcoming was identified: staff have insufficient knowledge of the mandatory reporting, consultation, and disclosure obligations (MOA) regarding suspected abuse or maltreatment by colleagues or the provider themselves. The provider has responded with additional measures, including repeated communication via the internal platform Plek and scheduled training sessions. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) recommends enforcement action.
