KDV De Speelboerderij

Welcome to KDV De Speelboerderij, a warm and small-scale agricultural daycare located on a real farm at Molenland 10A in Mijdrecht. Since February 2010 we have been caring with heart and soul for 48 children aged 0 to 4. Our site is unique: where cows and calves once stood, you now find three homely groups that are arranged as horizontally as possible. Two groups care for children aged 0-3 and one toddler group welcomes children from 2.5-4 years. This way every age stays in a familiar environment and a child can gently move on to the next group between 2.5 and 3 years of age. Our farm is more than a building; it is a living learning and play landscape. Children watch wide-eyed at the chickens, rabbits, alpacas and deer, help in the vegetable garden and experience real farm life together with farmer René. You literally feel the seasons here: sowing in spring, harvesting in summer, collecting leaves in autumn and playing cosily indoors together in winter. The 350 m² safe, fenced outdoor play area – expanded with a grass hill, sandbox and natural materials – invites running, climbing and discovering every day. Indoors everything is child-safe: safety glass, secured sockets, underfloor heating and a CO2 meter in every group. Quality and attention are central. All our pedagogical staff are qualified, hold a valid Child First Aid certificate and work according to the pedagogical policy of the United Agricultural Childcare (VAK). We provide an extension of the home situation: rest, rhythm and familiarity come first. For the very youngest we provide bottle feeding, nappies and their own bedroom with cots; for toddlers we offer pre-school education (VVE) and challenging activities. We are open 51 weeks a year, only closing between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and offer both full and half-day care. Parents are always welcome for a cup of coffee and a chat; together we ensure that every child feels seen and loved.
