Within Kindcentrum De Ark, we collaborate closely with the primary school and preschool to ensure a smooth transition from childcare to education. Toddlers and kindergarteners play and learn together on a challenging play-and-learn square. We align our methods and themes to create a familiar and seamless transition for your child.

Settling in
At Kappio, we follow a careful settling-in policy for children aged 0-4. We recommend starting the settling-in period one week before the official start date. The first settling-in session lasts a maximum of half a day (8:30-12:30), the second session continues until 15:00 (or 14:00 for morning-only placements). Children attending one day per week start with additional settling-in sessions where possible. Parents receive 8 swap service hours, valid for 1 year, for extra childcare flexibility.

Summary
KDV de Ark in Schagen, part of childcare organization Kappio, was inspected on 15 January 2026. The daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) offers 16 childcare places and provides early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie/VE) through the Uk en Puk program. The annual inspection was unannounced and was carried out simultaneously with an in-depth investigation following earlier shortcomings. The location has a history of non-compliance: violations were identified in 2023 and 2025, after which the municipality issued a warning and enforcement action respectively. Een zeer goede basisschool met een zeer betrokken team. Binnenkort ook in een nieuw gebouw en dat heeft dit team hartstikke verdiend!
