Childminder (gastouder) care at ViaViela is formal care, which means parents can claim childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the Tax and Customs Administration. To qualify, you must use a registered childminder through a childminder agency that is registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). ViaViela helps parents apply for childcare benefit and offers a customised cost calculation. Depending on your personal situation, net costs can work out at €0.50 per child per hour or higher after deduction of the benefit.
Childminder (gastouder) care through ViaViela is on average 20% cheaper than other forms of childcare. Parents pay two parties: the childminder (on average €6.25 to €8.95 per child per hour) and ViaViela for mediation and guidance (an all-in monthly fee with no registration costs). The agency fee depends on the number of care hours, number of children and region. ViaViela offers free, no-obligation customised calculations and only charges from the moment care actually begins. After deduction of childcare benefit, net costs can work out at €0.50 per child per hour or higher.
Trust & screening
ViaViela carries out careful screening and selection of all childminders before parents meet them. Childminders must hold all required diplomas and the care location must comply with all safety and hygiene regulations. The agency visits childminders regularly to check that the location remains safe and healthy. All ViaViela locations and childminders have an active registration in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and are inspected annually by the GGD. In addition, ViaViela provides ongoing education and pedagogical support to childminders.
