About this care
Kinderdagverblijf Jottem is a warm, homely childcare centre in the heart of Raalte, located in Brede School Kwintijn at Oude Molenweg 3. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in vertical groups, where siblings and friends of different ages play, discover and grow together.
Our location features a spacious, open classroom with a homely atmosphere. We share the large, green schoolyard with the primary school, giving us plenty of space to play, run and romp outside. We love being outdoors: together we walk to the Hartkamp, the village or the nearby playground. Feeding ducks is also part of the fun! When it rains, we stay cosy inside where there's always something to discover.
We work with fixed pedagogical staff, allowing children and parents to build a trusted relationship with us. We listen to the wishes and dreams of the children and involve them in what we do and create. This way, we make every day enjoyable and pleasant together.
Kinderdagverblijf Jottem uses the VVE method Uk & Puk, focused on language development and learning through play. We offer a continuous learning path, where children are playfully prepared for primary school. GGD IJsselland conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 2 September 2025 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Jottem! in Raalte. The location provides early education to a maximum of 29 children and works closely with primary school De Kwintijn. The report concludes that all assessed quality requirements are met, partly thanks to a recovery offer. There was one violation: the pedagogical policy plan lacked a description of the working method, maximum size and age composition of the mixed-age group (daycare center/KDV and after-school care/BSO combined). The location amended this within the recovery period. Strong points include the good staff-child ratio, qualified staff, use of the Uk&Puk programme, deployment of a pedagogical policy officer and collaboration with the school for a Language Plus group. Parents are involved through parent evenings, newsletters and a parent portal. There is no parent committee, but this is legally permitted due to the low number of childcare places.
