About this care
Welcome to Jaribabo After-School Care Niekerk, located at Smidshornerweg 51 in the Westerkwartier municipality. We are a certified childcare organization offering flexible after-school care for children aged 7 to 12 years. Our location is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
At Jaribabo, we work with a fixed core group, allowing children to get to know each other well and experience a familiar environment. We provide age- and development-appropriate activities within our pedagogical framework. Our focus is on sports and play, where we challenge children to be active and discover new skills.
Flexibility is central to our approach. Parents only pay for the hours they register their child, without fixed time slots. Our days start around 6:30 AM and end when the last children are picked up. Summary
Jaribabo after-school care (BSO) in Niekerk provides care for up to 39 children in two spaces on and near the grounds of VV Niekerk. During the annual unannounced inspection visit on 16 October 2025, the location was found to meet statutory quality requirements on virtually all aspects. The pedagogical practice, staffing levels, safety measures and parental rights were in order. Two shortcomings were identified: the pedagogical policy plan lacked concrete descriptions regarding identifying developmental problems, group composition and cross-location care, and the safety and health policy was not described in an accessible manner for parents and staff. Both violations have since been resolved through a recovery offer. The advice to the municipality is to take no enforcement action.
