This inspection report concerns an investigation for registration of childminder/host parent care (gastouderopvang) J.G. Fraenk - van Essen at Lise Meitnerstraat 2 in Almere. The childminder is moving and wishes to provide care at her new home. At the first visit on 2 February 2026, there were serious shortcomings: the childcare space could not be safely secured, there was no suitable sleeping space, the rear garden bordered directly onto open water without adequate protection, and the risk assessment was insufficient and not tailored to the new home. The inspector expanded the investigation with a recovery offer. At the second visit on 9 February 2026, most shortcomings had been addressed: a gate had been installed, the garden was partially enclosed and a new risk assessment had been drawn up. Shortcomings were also identified at the childminder agency Tamara's Gastouderbureau, which will be passed on for the annual inspection. The inspector gives a positive recommendation for inclusion in the National Childcare Register.
