About this care
Welcome to It Hummelhonk, our small-scale daycare center specially designed for toddlers aged 2 to 4 years, located at Smidsreed 6 in Tzum. As part of the It Hummelhonk Foundation, we provide care for a maximum of 15 children, ensuring peace, overview, and plenty of personal attention.
Our toddler care has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register since October 26, 2015, under number 115303352. We operate under the supervision of GGD Fryslân and on behalf of the municipality of Waadhoeke.
At It Hummelhonk, your toddler's development is our main focus. We provide preschool education (VVE), preparing children for primary school in a playful manner. Our activities are tailored to toddlers' world of experience and stimulate their language, motor, and social skills.
We work with horizontal groups, where children of the same age play and learn together. This provides peace and familiarity for the children and allows our childcare professionals to specifically respond to your child's developmental stage.

Summary
Peuteropvang It Hummelhonk in Tzum, part of Stichting Kinderopvang Noardwest Fryslân, was inspected on 24 March 2026. The facility accommodates a maximum of 15 toddlers aged 2–4 years and provides subsidized early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie). The pedagogical practice is of good quality: children receive sensitive guidance, are challenged in their development, and are encouraged in their social competencies. The accommodation, personnel matters, and deployment of the pedagogical policy officer are also in order. Two violations were identified: an incomplete training plan for early childhood education and an incorrect link to the inspection report on the website. Both violations were remedied following the recovery offer within the deadline. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises no enforcement action.
