About this care
Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of IKC Nova located at Bertrand Russellplaats 7 in Rotterdam-Ommoord. We provide before-school, after-school and holiday care for children aged 4 to 12 in a familiar, homely setting within the school. Our pedagogical staff from KindeRdam work closely with the teachers of IKC Nova, creating one continuous line from school to childcare.
The BSO is located in its own cozy space within the school building. Children can play, relax and take part in age-appropriate activities. We make extensive use of the shared outdoor playground and offer a broad program in sports and science & technology. The activities are aligned with the school's educational offerings, ensuring children feel at ease and continue to develop.
On Wednesdays we join forces with BSO Prins Alexander. Children from both locations come together at our site, providing extra social contact and exchange. We value parental involvement and communicate clearly and consistently from one organization.
Our opening hours are Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:30. During school holidays we are open from 07:30 to 18:30.Read more

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection report dated 1 April 2026 concerns a follow-up investigation at IKC Nova (BSO) in Rotterdam, an after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 13 years with 34 places. This investigation followed earlier violations identified during inspections in January 2026 and April 2025 regarding pedagogical policy and pedagogical practice. This follow-up investigation found that the provider now meets both quality requirements. The daily schedule has been written out and discussed, coaching has been implemented, and staff members' interaction skills have improved. Observations showed good emotional safety and personal competence among the children. No new violations were identified.
