Summary

This inspection report concerns an annual investigation conducted on 19 February 2026 at the after-school care (BSO) IK-OOK Dommelen in Valkenswaard, located in primary school de Belhamel. The location provides care for a maximum of 40 children in two base groups. The inspection was unannounced. The pedagogical practice, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights complied with the law. The pedagogical policy had three shortcomings: it lacked concrete descriptions of how the mentor discusses the child's development with parents, how children settle into a new base group, and how the qualified staff-child ratio is implemented. The provider corrected these through a recovery offer. There was a point of attention regarding staff deployment on two dates and a safety risk from a hot heater within children's reach, for which measures have been committed.
