About this care
BSO het Valkhof is located in the child centre ‘het Valkhof’ at Schonauwen 2 in Roden. We share the building with the public Dalton primary school Het Valkhof and a playgroup. Our after-school care uses two group rooms and, in addition, the school’s communal hall and play room. Children can enjoy a large, green outdoor area right next to the building.
Our qualified pedagogical staff provide a varied activity programme every day, using the DoenKids method. Within this thematic programme children are invited to think along and decide which activities are offered. Themes are chosen to match the children’s interests and current events. After school there is plenty of time to play, relax and discover new things. During school holidays and study days we are open from 07.30 to 18.00, so parents can rely on us all year round.
BSO het Valkhof works closely with OBS het Valkhof and other nearby schools. We collect the children after school and ensure a smooth hand-over between school and after-school care. Our setting is small-scale and clear, allowing every child to receive the attention they deserve.Read more

Summary
BSO het Valkhof in Roden provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 52 children aged 4 to 13 years. The inspection of 23 July 2025 shows that the location meets the quality requirements for pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health. There is an up-to-date safety and health policy, staff members hold valid Certificates of Conduct (Verklaringen omtrent het Gedrag/VOG) and are properly registered. The pedagogical policy is known and applied by staff members. However, no parent committee has been established, while this is legally required for childcare centers with more than 50 childcare places. The location does show active efforts to involve parents. No enforcement action will be taken, provided that the location continues to work towards forming a parent committee.
