About this care
Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of Het Tuinhuis at Mendelweg 22D in Boskoop. We provide care for up to 20 school-age children from 4 to 12 years old. Our BSO has been registered in the National Childcare Register under number 175428785 since 16 June 2014 and is supervised by the GGD Hollands-Midden.
Our focus is on learning and enjoying nature. Whenever the weather allows, children play outside; favourite activities include scavenger hunts and tag. When the weather is less inviting, they enjoy indoor activities such as Lego, colouring, crafts and baking cookies. Groups are formed by age so children play and learn with peers. Older children also have a quiet space and guidance for homework.
Additionally, we offer the option to take swimming lessons during after-school hours. Our vision is that self-confidence is the most important gift we can give children. Therefore we use the ZaaiGoed method to help every child grow into a self-assured, talented individual.

The pedagogical practice shows strong points: staff actively stimulate children, supervise play from a distance where appropriate, and apply clear rules and agreements. The Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) registration, training requirements, and staff-to-child ratios are also in order. No areas for improvement or violations were identified. The holder has agreed to the contents of the report. The advice to the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn is: no enforcement.
