About this care
Welcome to Het Peuterhuis, an anthroposophical playgroup located in the Dordtse Vrijeschool at Dubbelmondestraat 1 in Dordrecht. We provide a warm, homely environment where children aged 2 to 4 can develop through play. Our educational approach is inspired by anthroposophy, working from the principle of "Heart, Head and Hands". Rhythm, rest and regularity are central to our daily activities. We use natural materials and offer activities such as singing, reading, crafts and outdoor play. Our spacious garden provides ample opportunities to discover nature. We work with fixed daily routines that give children security and prepare them for primary school. Summary
Het Peuterhuis in Dordrecht, part of Istia Kinderopvang, was inspected unannounced by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) on 10 April 2026. The toddler daycare (peuteropvang) accommodates 16 children aged 2 to 4 years and operates from an anthroposophical vision. The inspection showed that the location meets all assessed legal conditions. The pedagogical climate is good: staff are sensitive, responsive, and stimulate children's social and emotional development.
