At Het Koningshofje, parents find flexible, small-scale childminder care (gastouderopvang) tailored to their needs. We offer two forms of care: traditional childminder care at the childminder's home and nanny services at the parents' home. Our childminders are qualified, experienced, and work with a pedagogical plan. Parents can search for care themselves via our childminder platform or register for personal placement services. Subsidy & costs
You can apply for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) via 'Mijn toeslagen' on the tax authorities' website. Het Koningshofje does not apply for the benefit on your behalf, but we do ensure correct data transfer to the tax authorities in accordance with the Childcare Act. For questions about benefits, you can contact your placement consultant. Childminder care is an affordable form of care because the gross hourly rate is lower than at a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV). Some employers offer subsidies as a secondary employment condition.
Het Koningshofje uses transparent rates. For childminder care, the rate consists of two components: an hourly rate for the childminder and fixed monthly bureau costs per family. For nanny services, we offer various contract forms, depending on your needs (maximum 3 days, two nannies, or self-employed construction). The hourly rate for a nanny is currently between €13.50 and €18.00 per hour, depending on contract form, number of hours, number of children, and experience.
Trust & screening
We set requirements for our childminders and screen potential childminders carefully. Childminders must be qualified and experienced. We encourage childminders to follow additional training and offer courses such as first aid for children and language and interaction skills. All childminders work with a pedagogical plan in which they describe how they work towards the pedagogical objectives.
Het Koningshofje is a registered childminder bureau with LRK number 230061643 (Pijnacker/Nootdorp) and Chamber of Commerce number 52282104. We work together with the local GGD (municipal health service) and municipality for supervision and quality assurance. Our mission is to further professionalise childminder care (gastouderopvang) together with various partners in the chain, using transparent rates for the placement and guidance of childminders. We strive to serve our customers as well as possible and devote considerable time and attention to process improvements, training development, and consultation with our partners in the childminder care chain.
Pedagogical vision
Our pedagogical vision is based on the four pedagogical objectives from the Childcare Act, supplemented with a fifth objective on cooperation with parents. Every childminder pays attention to: 1) emotional security, 2) personal competence, 3) social competence, 4) values and norms, and 5) cooperation with parents. We believe that every child is unique and should be able to make the most of their opportunities. Childminders work with a pedagogical plan in which they describe how they work towards these objectives, including interaction with children, use of indoor and outdoor space, group dynamics, activity programme, and play materials.
