About this care
At Het Hazendonkje Schelluinen, we offer professional green childcare on a small estate with orchards and animal meadows in the Alblasserwaard. Our location is situated right along the N216 and provides a safe, natural environment where children can play, learn and grow.
Our facilities feature spacious indoor and outdoor areas. Outside, we have a 400m² playground for the older toddlers and preschoolers with a tractor track, covered sandpit, play tower and small willow coppice. For the babies, there is a separate playground. At the adjacent petting farm live chickens, cows and goats. Indoors, we create a homely atmosphere with plenty of personal attention. The children's space is one and a half to two times larger than the legal standard set by the GGD (Dutch municipal health service), and each age group (babies, toddlers and preschoolers) has its own group room.
Activities focus on natural play and learning. We encourage children to play outside and discover nature, which contributes to their motor and social skills. Our childcare staff are well-trained and ensure a safe and loving environment. We are affiliated with VAK (Verenigde Agrarische Kinderopvang / United Agricultural Childcare) and work according to green pedagogy with four pillars: emotional safety, personal competence, social competence, and norms and values.Read more
