About this care
Welcome to Hero BSO 't Hoenstraat 3, our welcoming after-school care facility in Haarlem. We are located at 't Hoenstraat 3, right next to the large sports fields at Kleverlaan. We share our space with the korfball association, giving us direct access to extensive sports facilities. Our BSO accommodates 73 children aged 4 to 12.
At our location, children can choose from a wide range of activities every day. We organize sports activities on the adjacent sports fields, creative workshops in our craft club, and cooking activities in our cooking club. Our pedagogical staff guide the children with enthusiasm and attention, allowing each child to develop at their own pace.
We pick up children from various primary schools in the area, including Vrije School Kleverpark. After school, children can relax with us, play with friends, and participate in fun activities. We believe that children thrive best in a safe, homely environment where they can discover who they are.

Summary
Hero BSO Hoenstraat 3 is an after-school care (BSO) in Haarlem for 73 children aged 6-13. During the unannounced inspection on 8 July 2025, it appeared that the location meets most quality requirements. There were two shortcomings: the pedagogical policy did not describe concretely enough how the minimum number of qualified staff is deployed, and on one day there was a staff shortage. The first shortcoming was resolved through a recovery offer. For the staff shortage, an incidental exceptional situation applied, in which the safety of the children was not at stake. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to take enforcement action.
