Welcome to Hero BSO Dinkelstraat, our special BSO+ location in the heart of Haarlem. Located at Dinkelstraat 4, we are one of the few BSOs in Haarlem and surrounding areas that specializes in providing care for children with developmental and behavioral challenges.
Our BSO+ specifically focuses on creating a safe and structured environment where every child has the space to develop in their own unique way. We understand that each child is unique and that some children need extra support to navigate their day successfully. Our pedagogical staff are specially trained to handle the challenges our children face in their development.
We operate from the conviction that children with developmental and behavioral challenges have the right to the same warm, challenging, and playful care as all other children. Therefore, we offer a program tailored to the individual needs of each child, with structure, clarity, and predictability at its core. Our small-scale setup with 12 places ensures we can truly give attention to each child and have the flexibility to respond to specific needs.
As part of Stichting Hero kindercentra, a professional childcare organization without profit motive, we stand for high-quality care where the child's well-being is always central. We work closely with parents, schools, and other involved professionals to best meet what each child needs.Read more

Summary
Hero BSO Dinkelstraat is a small-scale after-school care (BSO) in Haarlem with 12 places for children aged 4–13. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 1 September 2025. All assessed quality requirements in the areas of pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety & health, and parental rights were met; this is therefore an approving report. The location provides emotionally safe care, has a clear pedagogical policy that is actually implemented, works with fixed mentors per child, and complies with all regulations regarding staffing levels, Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG), language proficiency, and the domestic violence reporting protocol. Parents are actively informed via website, app, and conversations; complaints are handled properly. There is still no parent committee, but the provider demonstrates sufficient effort to involve parents in other ways. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. No recovery offer was necessary. The municipality is advised not to take enforcement action.
