Summary

The annual Municipal Health Service (GGD) Rotterdam-Rijnmond inspection of childcare center Guppies in Hoogvliet Rotterdam was conducted on 7 July 2026. The location provides toddler care (peuteropvang) for 16 children aged 2 to 4 years at the RVKO Jacobusschool, with pre-school education (voorschoolse educatie) according to the Pyramid method. All inspected quality requirements were found to be in order this year, including the previously problematic topic of the Parent Committee. At the previous inspection in April 2025, a violation was identified because parents were unable to exercise their advisory rights. The municipality then issued a warning. The provider has remedied this by organizing parent open-door sessions, newsletters and emails through which parents can share their thoughts and give advice. The pedagogical practice, pre-school education, personnel matters, safety and complaints handling all comply with legal requirements. No new violations or areas for improvement have been identified.
