Op 27 februari 2024 voerde de GGD Groningen een onaangekondigd jaarlijks onderzoek uit bij gastouderopvang Roggeveld (VGO) in Hellum, in opdracht van gemeente Midden-Groningen. De gastouder biedt dagopvang aan 7 kinderen (0-4 jaar) via gastouderbureau Thuis in Balans. De locatie voldoet na herstelaanbod aan alle wettelijke voorwaarden. Er was één overtreding geconstateerd: ontbrekende en verkeerd geplaatste rookmelders in gang en hal, die als vluchtroute dienen. De gastouder heeft het herstelaanbod benut en binnen de termijn aangetoond dat de rookmelders correct zijn geplaatst. Overige onderdelen (registratie, pedagogisch klimaat, deskundigheid, veiligheid en gezondheid) werden goed beoordeeld. Het advies aan de gemeente is: geen handhaving.
