About this care
Grensrakkers is our after-school care centre located at Diepstraat 4 in Wernhout. We are part of Kober, a professional childcare organisation with more than 200 locations across West-Brabant, yet to parents and children we feel first and foremost like ‘the BSO around the corner’. Everything we do revolves around a familiar environment with familiar faces and personal contact.
Every day starts with a clear rhythm so that children know what to expect. At the same time, no two days are the same, because we work with DoenKids: a database packed with activities that help us discover new talents and hobbies. Our pedagogical staff continuously tailor the programme to the interests of the group, ensuring every child feels challenged and seen.
We offer both before- and after-school care. On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday children can arrive from 07:00 for early care (at a small additional cost). After-school care is available on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:30 to 18:30, we are closed on Wednesday, and on Friday from 12:00 to 18:30. Food, drinks, fruit and healthy snacks are always included, as are extra activities, excursions and themed weeks. This way your child never misses out.
Parents are kept up to date daily through the Parent App: a photo, a short message or the latest news from the location. This keeps you involved even when you are not there. Strengths
- Pedagogical climate: children are approached sensitively and responsively, with respect for autonomy and clear structure
- Diverse play materials indoors and outdoors for different developmental areas and ages
- Staff members serve as points of contact during conflicts and involve children in finding solutions
- Sufficient space: multiple rooms and a large schoolyard
- All diplomas and Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) registrations are correctly recorded
- At least one person with a first aid certificate is always present
Violations
- Back-up person arrangement unknown to substitute staff member: the substitute who was alone with the group from 17:00 to 18:30 was unaware that the caretaker was the designated back-up person and did not have their phone number. This information was missing from the form in the substitute folder. Neither staff member could identify this on the spot.
Summary
GGD West-Brabant conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 7 September 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Grensrakkers in Wernhout, part of Kober B.V. The location provides care for a maximum of 75 children aged 4 to 13 years in the premises of primary school Sint Jozef. The inspection assessed pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health. All requirements were met for pedagogical climate and safety and health. A violation was found regarding staff and groups: a substitute staff member did not know who the back-up person was or how to reach them. This was resolved verbally on site immediately and documented in writing in the work instruction on 8 September 2026. The location now complies with all assessed legal requirements. The advice to the municipality of Zundert is: no enforcement action.
