Tweede Thuis offers personal guidance in finding a childminder (gastouder) who fits your family. The agency works with a zero-hours contract, so you only pay for the actual hours of care. The childcare takes place in a homely atmosphere with attention to flexibility and small-scale care, so that every child receives the attention they need. Parents build a personal bond with their childminder, which creates trust and peace of mind.
Subsidy & costs
Tweede Thuis is a recognized childminder agency, which means parents may be eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) if they and their partner work or meet other statutory conditions. The agency offers guidance with applying for this benefit where needed. Parents can do a trial calculation on the Tax Authority website to get an indication of the costs and benefit.
The advisory rate (babysitting allowance) for the childminder is €7.59 per child per hour. Childminders are allowed to set their own rate. In addition, there is the mediation rate of Tweede Thuis: €0.90 per child per hour of care. The total hourly rate therefore consists of the rate for the childminder plus the rate for the agency.
