Subsidy & costs
Parents can apply for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) via the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. The maximum subsidised hourly rate for 2026 is €8.49 per hour. We refer parents to the official subsidy table from the Dutch government for current percentages and amounts. It is important to note that the childminder's (gastouder) hourly rate is set by the childminder themselves, with an advisory rate for 2025 of around €7.00 per child per hour. For in-home care, the rate starts from €16.50 per hour, depending on age and number of children.
The costs consist of two components: the childminder's (gastouder) hourly rate and the agency fees. Trust & screening
Our childminders (gastouders) are carefully selected and must meet all legal requirements. They hold the necessary qualifications and experience, including a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) for themselves and household members. Childminders receive regular training to provide the best possible care and education. We visit childminders twice a year to check that care still meets requirements and to discuss any questions. We are also available for consultations and observations whenever needed.
Gastouderbureau KoeKoeK meets all legal requirements for childminder agencies (gastouderbureaus). We work with a parent committee that meets at least four times a year and advises on the quality of care. All policy documents are publicly available, including the pedagogical policy plan, complaints procedure and child abuse protocol. Our childminders (gastouders) are regularly inspected and receive ongoing training. GGD inspection reports are publicly accessible via our website.
