As a parent, you have a fixed point of contact in the childminder (gastouder), who can quickly and effectively respond to the needs, character, preferences and talents of your child. We offer flexible childcare options, including evening hours and Saturdays, and can accommodate various care needs such as daycare, before-school, between-school or after-school care (BSO).
Subsidy & costs
For registered childminder care (gastouderopvang) via Je Beste Maatje, you are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the Tax Authority. The agency is registered in the National Childcare and Preschool Register (LRKP), which is a condition for receiving benefit. The amount of the benefit depends on your income and the number of children attending care. You can make a trial calculation via www.toeslagen.nl/reken/toeslagen. Agency fees count towards the childcare benefit. Childcare benefit can be applied for from the month in which you submit the application and for the 3 months prior.
The costs for childminder care (gastouderopvang) at Je Beste Maatje consist of two parts: care costs paid to the childminder (depending on age and experience) and agency fees from the childminder agency (fixed amount per month or hour). The childminder's costs are approximately 80% of the total costs. Agency fees are low compared to many other childminder agencies, especially considering the service and quality we offer. Trust & screening
Je Beste Maatje sets stricter requirements for childminders than legally required. All childminders and adult family members must submit a Certificate of Conduct (VOG). Childminders are linked in the PRK for continuous screening. We work with the improved Reporting Code on Child Abuse and apply additional conditions for the care environment: it must be safe and clean, smoke-free, with opportunity for outdoor play and sufficient challenging toys and reading materials. Childminders must be easily reachable by phone.
Childminder Agency (Gastouderbureau) Je Beste Maatje is a municipality-recognised and registered childminder agency in the National Childcare and Preschool Register (LRKP). The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspects both the agency and the childminders annually for safety and health. We conduct our own home visits to childminders twice a year, with special attention to safety, guidance and care. The agency is affiliated with the Disputes Committee for impartial assessment of complaints and works with the improved Reporting Code on Child Abuse.
