Gastouderburo Zowiezo arranges professional childminder (gastouder) care for children from 0 to 13 years in a warm, home-like environment. Our agency matches parents with carefully selected childminders, either at the childminder's home or in your own home. We take a great deal of worry off the hands of both parents and childminders with personal guidance, placement services, cost estimates and full administrative support including the application for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). For parents
At Gastouderburo Zowiezo, we believe personal attention and flexibility matter. We match parents with childminders (gastouders) and take care of all the administration and financial processing. Parents are assigned their own placement coordinator who guides them in finding a suitable childminder and remains available for questions and support.
We arrange the childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) application with the Dutch Tax Authority, pay the childminders, and advance the benefit. We also offer support from a pedagogue for parenting questions and help arrange emergency childcare when needed.
Subsidy & costs
At Gastouderburo Zowiezo, you are eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) if you work or study. We handle the complete application and administration for the benefit with the Dutch Tax Authority. The amount of the benefit depends on your (joint) assessed income.
We offer a contribution calculator on our website to estimate your net costs. We also advance the childcare benefit and pay the childminders, so you do not need to pay upfront yourself. We maintain contact with the Tax Authority and provide the annual statement for your tax return.
Zowiezo calculates placement fees per hour, keeping childminder care flexible and affordable, even with few care hours. The gross hourly rate consists of the childminder rate plus placement fees. For 2026, the minimum childminder rate is €6.81 per hour.
Placement fees vary based on the number of care hours per month according to a tiered system. With the Zowiezo Compleet package, total gross hourly rates range between €8.32 and €8.40 for 58-200 hours per month. We offer a customised quote and have special rates for combinations with maternity care.

Trust & screening
Zowiezo carefully selects childminders (gastouders) and monitors the quality of care. All childminders must meet legal requirements and are visited at least four times per year by a placement coordinator. These visits include:
- Risk Assessment of Health and Safety at the childminder's home
- Evaluation meeting between parent and childminder
- Progress meeting with the childminder
- Unannounced visit at the childcare address
In addition, childminders complete mandatory annual refresher training and participate in Zowiezo courses. In total, we see each childminder at least six times per year.
Gastouderburo Zowiezo is registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang) under number 150397525 and is supervised by GGD Hollands Noorden. We operate in accordance with the Childcare Act (Wet Kinderopvang) and maintain a pedagogical policy plan that is regularly evaluated and updated.
All childminders (gastouders) meet legal requirements: MBO-2 diploma (or equivalent), Paediatric First Aid, Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag), and registration in the LRK.
