Gastouderland is a certified registered childminder agency (gastouderbureau) with national coverage and 23 locations throughout the Netherlands. As a childminder agency, we mediate between parents and registered childminders (gastouders) who meet all legal requirements of the Childcare Act. Parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) with us because all our childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK).
We offer personal guidance through a dedicated regional consultant who works in your area. This consultant actively searches for a suitable childminder who matches your needs and arranges a no-obligation introductory meeting. Our service includes mediation, pedagogical support, safety checks, and administrative processing.
Gastouderland stands for quality care in a homely atmosphere. We work with our own early childhood education programme called AAP! which focuses on the social-emotional, motor, cognitive, and sensory development of children. At Gastouderland you will find small-scale childminder care (gastouderopvang) in a homelike atmosphere. We mediate between parents and registered childminders (gastouders) who meet all legal requirements. Your personal regional consultant will actively search for a suitable childminder that matches your needs and arranges a no-obligation introduction.
We offer flexible childcare where the hours can be tailored to your needs. Childminder care is official childcare, which means you are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). Our childminders work with the early childhood education programme AAP! that playfully prepares children for school.
You always have a fixed contact person who works in your region and guides you through all aspects of the care, from matching to administrative handling.
Subsidy & costs
Parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) because all Gastouderland childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). The amount of the benefit depends on your income, family composition and care hours.
We offer support with the application for childcare benefit and ensure that all invoices are suitable as proof for the Tax and Customs Administration. You can receive childcare benefit for a maximum of 230 hours per month per child. Our agency costs are included in the benefit calculation, where we always make the most favourable calculation possible.
We advise parents to make a test calculation via the Tax and Customs Administration to see how much benefit they are entitled to. Our financial helpdesk is available for questions about subsidies and tax matters.
Gastouderland charges no registration fees and searches for a suitable childminder free of charge. Only upon a match do you pay agency costs, where we make the most favourable calculation possible that is included in the childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag).
The hourly rate for childminders who provide care in their own home averages between €5.50 and €8.00 per hour. For childminders at your home (nannies), rates range between €13.00 and €20.00 per hour, depending on number of children, age and experience. Childminders determine their own hourly rate in consultation with the consultant.
You receive monthly invoices that can be used for the childcare benefit. Payments to childminders are processed within 2 working days. We offer the option to pay via IDEAL and have a financial helpdesk for all your questions.
Trust & screening
Our screening process for childminders is thorough and meets all legal requirements:
- Diploma requirement: Childminders must hold a government-approved diploma
- Paediatric First Aid: Mandatory First Aid for Children certificate
- Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG): For childminder, household members from 18 years and structural presences
- Persons Register: Registration in the Childcare Persons Register (PRK) with continuous screening
- LRK registration: Registration in the National Childcare Register after approval by GGD
- Location check: Annual risk assessment for safety and hygiene by consultant
Gastouderland guides the entire registration process and ensures that childminders meet all requirements before they are allowed to care for children.
Gastouderland meets all requirements of the Childcare Act and is inspected annually by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). All our childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and the Childcare Persons Register (PRK).
We carry out annual risk assessments for safety and health at all childcare locations. Childminders and household members over 18 have a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and are continuously screened via the PRK.
Our quality assurance includes at least two home visits per year, six-monthly progress interviews with childminders and annual evaluations with parents. We have an internal and external complaints procedure and are a member of the Disputes Committee.
