For parents
At Gastouderland, you'll find small-scale childminder care (gastouderopvang) in a homely atmosphere. Your child is cared for by a regular childminder, creating a sense of familiarity and personal attention. All our childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register, so you are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). You'll be assigned a personal consultant who lives in your region and will guide you in finding a suitable childminder who matches your needs. Childminder care is flexible, and you only pay for the hours you actually use.
Subsidy & costs
Parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) because all Gastouderland childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). You can receive up to 230 hours of benefit per month per child. The amount of benefit depends on your income, family composition and childcare details. Gastouderland provides support with the application and supplies the required invoices and annual statements as proof for the Tax Authority. We advise parents to do a trial calculation to see how much benefit they are entitled to.
Gastouderland charges no registration fees and searches for a childminder at no cost. Only upon a match do you pay agency fees, for which we calculate the most favourable arrangement possible that can be included in the childcare benefit. The hourly rate for childminders in their own home averages between €5.50 and €8.00 per hour. For childminders at your home (nannies), rates range between €13.00 and €20.00 per hour, depending on the number of children and experience. Payments to childminders are processed within 2 working days.
Trust & screening
Childminders at Gastouderland undergo strict screening: they must hold a government-approved diploma, a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate, and a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). Household members aged 18 and over and those regularly present must also hold a VOG. After registration in the Childcare Personnel Register, continuous screening takes place. The GGD inspects the care location for safety and hygiene before registration in the National Childcare Register is granted.
Gastouderland meets all requirements of the Childcare Act and is inspected annually by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). All childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and the Childcare Personnel Register (PRK). Childminders and household members hold a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). Care locations are checked annually for safety and hygiene through risk assessments. We have an internal and external complaints procedure and are a member of the Disputes Committee.

Pedagogical vision
Gastouderland is dedicated to childcare quality and has developed its own early childhood education programme called AAP!. This programme playfully addresses children's social-emotional, motor, cognitive and sensory development. Every childminder receives a free Aap! cuddly toy and the accompanying educational folder at no cost. The pedagogical policy plan provides childminders with guidance for daily care, and a pedagogical helpdesk is available for questions from both parents and childminders.

GGD Flevoland carried out a registration inspection on 2 September 2026 at childminder agency (gastouderbureau) Gastouderland Flevoland in Lelystad, in connection with a change of ownership. The new owner, Ms Sahadat, will take over the agency as a franchisee of Gastouderland B.V. in Culemborg as of 1 October 2026. The agency mediates for 22 host parents in the Flevoland region. The inspection showed that the new owner meets the quality requirements of the Childcare Act (Wet kinderopvang) at the time of starting up. The pedagogical policy is complete and the owner is familiar with it. The Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and PRK registration are in order. The owner does not yet fully meet the qualification requirements for pedagogical policy officer, but has a transitional arrangement until 1 July 2027 and is following a recognised course for this. Some components such as risk assessment at locations, pedagogical practice, quality criteria and administration can only be assessed at a subsequent inspection. No violations were identified.
